In 2020, PCS broke away from its parent company PAC (Preferred Apartment Communities), a real estate investment trust and leader in the alternative space. Until that time. PCS served as a division of PAC that handled wholesale distribution of PAC funds to broker/dealers and handled education, training and marketing support for the financial planners associated with those broker dealers.
Now, as a solo entity, PCS had the freedom to grow their portfolio by inviting other sponsors and their complimentary alternative investment products. PCS turned to FMG to help them navigate the launch of a new, ownable brand that would not only highlight their expertise and unique approach but also would clearly differentiate them from their former parent.
Initially, PCS came to us to redefine the new PCS for a broad set of audiences ranging from Product Originators/Sponsors, Broker/Dealers of all sizes, all the way through to the individual financial planners and end investors across the U.S.
Through primary research, interviews and many work sessions, we defined a truly unique, green field brand position for PCS based on their deep industry knowledge and experience, and their relentless dedication to end-to-end support from taking the funds “to market”, securing selling agreements, and providing unparalleled support to financial planners.
